About this Blog

I created this blog to provide a centralized place for family, friends, coworkers, and my church community to stay updated on my progress following my recent diagnosis. Keeping everyone informed via individual texts, emails, and calls has been a challenge, and I know many of you want to check in but worry about intruding. This blog will allow us to maintain a clear timeline of my journey.

I am incredibly grateful for the prayers and encouragement I have received. I welcome your comments and feedback, but I do ask that you avoid sharing any personally identifiable information, such as last names, as this is a public site.

Beyond personal updates, this blog has two other important goals:

First, I want to raise awareness about the impact of giving. I am a direct beneficiary of these life-saving gifts:

- Stem Cell Registry: Without those who registered, my outlook would be very different. I hope to inform others on how to sign up.

- Blood Donation: Having received many units of blood, I am a living example of why these donations are vital.

- Organ Donation: Thirty-three years ago, I received the ultimate gift—a heart transplant. Please ensure you have shared your wishes regarding organ donation with your loved ones.

Finally, I hope to encourage others facing their own medical challenges. Having been a "professional patient" for many years, I want to share my history to help others feel more confident in navigating difficult medical situations.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
